On set

Just like our pre production consultation services, our on set services can be booked on their own or as part of an end to end, pre to post engagement. So even if you have all your vendors covered but you're shoooting in Victoria and need an on set team, give us a call.

Here are some descriptions of what we offer on set.

VFX supervision: We work with the director, DOP, international VFX vendors and crew to plan VFX shots. Wether it be advising on what the camera dept needs to give us, capturing reference and measurements, coordinating lidar scans or just flagging problems while they're still cheap to fix, we are there to help. You leave the day knowing the shots will work.

On set capture and data wrangling: Every VFX shot generates data: HDRIs, clean plates, lens grids, chrome and grey balls, set measurements and camera metadata. We capture, label and back it up methodically so nothing is lost and post has exactly what it needs, exactly how it expects it. If we are capturing for other vendors we liease with them so nobody is hunting for a lens chart or camera info 5 months later.

On-set compositing: Where it helps the decision-making, we composite live or near-live on set — dropping elements into the plate so the director and client can see the shot working before everyone moves on to the next setup. Fewer surprises in post, more confidence on the day.
